Spring is coming! Dresses and sandals, tees and scarfs please!

Hello lovelies!

This makes blog number 3 for me and I've had some interesting reactions to my decision to start a blog! My 14 year old son simply said "WHY?" but he said it with that tone in his voice that you use when you're a little shocked and a lot confused. I think astonished is the right word for how he was feeling about it 😲. Hold on, googling definition of astonished to be sure...Nope, not astonished. Wrong word. Astonished definition has the word impressed in it. He did not appear impressed. Nope. His face contained more confusion. We'll go with confused. 😳So I explained it's just a hobby and it might be something fun for me to do and this seemed to satisfy him for the time being. I mean what did he think? That I was going to record every move he makes into a blog for all to see? Probably. He's 14 and he reminds me of this fact regularly. Mostly when I'm reminding him about anything. "MOM I'm 14 years old now, ok?" (Did you know that 14 year olds know EVERYTHING? Well, they do. Until he forgets his backpack, or his homework, or his chores, or puts the milk in the cabinet instead of the fridge. Wait. Maybe that last one was me.)

My favorite reaction was from my ever supportive husband. First he said "YOU"RE blogging!?!" (also with some shock and some confusion), then silence for a minute, and then he asked "Am I going to be in your blog?". Of course you are! Then he said "Alright, tell them my khaki pants are made from I don't know because they're so old that I can't read the label anymore, my shirt is from the clearance rack, and my socks are from I don't give a."  I left the last word from his quote out on purpose. You can probably use your imagination. Oh husbands! 😊

Look, maybe I just needed a new hobby during this draggy part of the year where we're between holidays I can decorate for, can't really start flower gardening outside yet, and have at this point cooked and tried every recipe I've ever wanted to (some good, some my dog wouldn't even eat). This time of year when football season is over and baseball hasn't started yet. The weather is all over the place and it makes it hard to figure out what to wear (my only answer is layers). Or maybe I am just sorely missing some girl time! I love and adore these guys I live with, but somehow I stay busy enough with work and spending time with them that I hardly EVER get any girl time. Also, I had a hard time finding outfit ideas from blogs that weren't done by tiny ladies. Tiny ladies, you are awesome and almost everything looks good on you. But I am not a size two and I really struggle to find clothes that I feel look good. Mix all that with my questionably unhealthy addiction to shopping for a good deal and this blog was born!

So here I sit on this beautiful early Saturday morning with my coffee and all these websites at my fingertips. I'll start with my outfit for the day and then, check out the additional finds below! Spring, please hurry!!!

Until next time!

A mix of outfit ideas!

Hello lovelies!

Ok Thursday aka Friday eve, we started the day off waking up at 4:45am for no good reason. With all this unplanned extra time and 2 large mugs of very strong coffee downed, what should I do? The options were clean house, start some fantastic dinner in the crock pot, work out, or pull some outfits that I love but want, no, NEED your opinions on. It was an easy decision- the outfits won! Let me know what you think please!💋

Let me preface this whole thing with this: I wear warm, earthy colors most of the time because someone much more fashion savvy than me once told me that those are the colors that I should wear. Apparently, people like me with brown eyes and what used to be brunette hair but that is now mixed with some gray and some highlights from the sun leftover from last summer (so chic, I know 😐) look best in warm, earthy colors like dark green, dark red and gold. She said people with blonde hair look best in brighter colors like pink, blue and yellow. Take that for what it's worth. Sometimes I still wear pink because I love it too much to give it up and a big part of me still believes in just wearing what you love, but I do keep her words in mind that I want people to see ME walk into a room, not my shirt. So here we go!

Ya'll, this tunic! THIS TUNIC! I love it so much that I bought it in three colors. Quail (light purple), burgundy and olive green. It's so good for work, casual wear or a dinner date. I wear with jeans. leggings and skirts. It is flowy, not tight but not frumpy imo (Mom, imo stands for in my opinion) ( I love you Mom!) and so so versatile. I ordered one size down as it does run big. The V neck is deep so you might want a cami or one of those wonderful sports bras that looks like a cami underneath. I fight myself from wearing this on repeat daily. Currently on sale for $27.50 at Nordstrom, free shipping and free returns always! I am in love with Nordstrom! Links to each piece below pics!
.

Leggings in top pic, true to size
Boots in top pic, true to size
Similar, same brand Jeans in bottom pic--LOVE this brand! stretchy and comfy. I want them all! TTS
If you're not into distressed jeans, I also own and love these. TTS but do stretch with wear some so if you are in between sizes, order one size down.
Shoes in bottom pic. I really like these fun little twists on regular flats!
Or pair this tunic with black pants and these booties  or heels and wear to work!

Ok, please, please give your opinion on this top. I want to love it so much but I cannot decide if it looks good on me or not. I'm leaning towards not. What do you think?

Top sold out currently but they might soon get mine back 😡 I'm just not sure it's for me. Does the back look really weird to you? Like, really really weird?? Or am I crazy? It's supposed to be a bow 😒

Heels- I searched and searched and finally found heels I can wear all day! They have cushioning!!! Yes please!

Another one I want to love and can't decide on is this Bobeau cardigan. Pro's: SO soft and warm. Con's: I think it makes me look bigger than I am due to the shorter length in the back, and it doesn't have pockets. I love pockets! I NEED POCKETS! That button is kind of awkwardly big too. Thoughts?

Cardigan  $39.90 and comes in so many colors!

Tee--oh how I love this tee. Soft, not clingy but not frumpy and $11!?!?  YAAAAAS!! Going fast!
Jeans- one of my fav designers Giuliana Rancic! She makes amazing jeans! Premium, stretchy denim with pockets currently on sale for $29.95!  RUN
Shoes are Koolaburra by Ugg. Think little sister of and still made by Ugg for $39.99! Runs big so size down if you are in between sizes.

Because spring cannot get here fast enough, these two dresses and sandals! Could also pair either dress with leggings, boots and a cute leather jacket for colder temps!  Gearing up for Valentine's Day with the burgundy one and still deciding whether to keep the one on the bottom or not. I just tend to stay away from rib knits for some reason. Probably because they are usually clingy and I hate clingy. Anyway, what do you think?

Dress with pockets! POCKETS!  $22.98 and going fast! This one is not the rib knit. It's a very soft poly/rayon blend or something. Please excuse my pasty winter skin!
Booties- Vince Camuto suede! swoooon

PS: I am currently searching for a good self tanner! 😆
PSS: I am also going shopping for a larger mirror tonight!

Dress  $29.40! Lots of colors! soft and roomy for being a rib knit! Is it a yes or a no?
Sandals- Lucky Brand, comfy leather on sale for $39.98 going fast!

I realize I am no model, and I am certainly not trying to be either! To keep it real- I am an occasional cheeseburger and ice cream eating, busy, happy, working mama and wife. For reference, I am almost 5'9" and usually wear a M or L in tops and a 10 or 12 in bottoms. Like a lot of ladies, I look for clothes that feel good, are comfortable to wear, and that I can feel my best in.

Women are beautiful in every size! Yes, YOU!  Besides, if we're keeping it really, really real, it's what's on the inside that counts the most anyway! Since we do have to wear clothes though, one of the goals of this blog is to help some of us find outfits that we feel and look our best in. Cheers to that! 🍦

My plan is to do a blog at least once a week with a round up of ideas, probably on Saturday mornings from now on. I promise to get better at taking pics with better lighting too. I also plan to post daily outfits and/or sale finds to my new Facebook page first thing each morning before work! If you like this kind of thing, you can subscribe on this page or just share a comment below. Also, on Facebook, go to my page at https://www.facebook.com/notatwo and click Like if you want to see my posts in your Facebook news feed! I'm happy to answer any questions you have!

I hope to hear from you soon!

My first post!

Greetings to all of you lovely people!

First, I have no idea what I'm doing starting a blog, but hey, it sounds like it could be fun so let's see how it goes! A little about me (ok maybe a lot because while I'm not much of a talker, I AM able to type and type, and type things about myself to be seen by the world apparently) (I am also an expert on run on sentences) (and using multiple parenthesis in one sentence) could start by telling you I am a 41 year old wife, Mom, employee, daughter, sister, dog owner and regular church goer (is goer a word?). Sigh. I sigh because I am probably forgetting something and will regret it later.

I named my blog Not A Two because I am NOT a size two. I am a size ten. Sometimes a ten feels so good that I buy a twelve.😏 I want more blogs with women who are NOT tiny and when I couldn't find very many, I decided to bite the bullet and do one!

I love fashion too much, like to the point that the first thing I do in the mornings is watch the news while I check my Nordstrom wish list to see if any of it has gone on sale while I was sleeping. And by watch the news I mean the news IS on the TV while I check my clothes and shoes and jewelry wish list but I really only look up when the weather comes on, to see what outfit I should wear for the day. Are there help groups for this? Do I think I need one? NO! Thinking I don't is probably the first sign that I need one. 😐

Besides fashion, I love God, my family, my friends, my job and my snoring, drooling English Mastiff. I'll post pics of all these wonderful beings in my life frequently I'm sure.
I'll be posting my outfits for the day and asking your opinion too. I'll post items that I've bought and ask your opinion, probably a lot, and I encourage you to do the same! I think it sounds nice to get others opinions on our choices, don't you? Well maybe. We'll see how it goes.

This seems to be getting too long so I'll wrap it up. A pic of my outfit for today is below! Please comment below and let me know what you think?  It is so nice to meet you all and I hope we will have fun here!
